Hockey Hounds Tournament

The tournament is the second longest running tournament in Western Canada.

THE HISTORY OF THE

Medicine Hat Hockey Hounds Tournament

What originally started in 1972 as a Midget A tournament, changed to the current Major Bantam (U15 AAA) tournament in 1984. Originally there were eight teams and in 1986 it expanded to sixteen teams.

We host teams from all over western Canada but have also hosted teams from Toronto, Detroit, Phoenix, Dallas, Seattle, Spokane, Los Angeles, and Colorado. The only non-Canadian team to win the tournament was from Los Angeles in 2004 and was also the only team that did not return to defend their title. The Medicine Hat team has won the tournament once in 1999.
